After prospective KTA students submit their application and two teacher recommendations they are invited to attend a general orientation together with their parents. They learn the history, mission and vision of the organization. Parents and students are presented with the travel information, costs, payment schedule, parental and student responsibilities.
Students complete a 250-word essay and survey while parents attend the business meeting.
After the General Orientation, readers review student surveys, essays, application and recommendations. The KTA Board selects scholars and notifies students and parents.
